Dr. Martin - Doctor

Dr. Carol Martin is a native of Armagh, Ireland -- The Orchard County -- who came to the states in 2003 to continue her Veterinary practice in the big city. Since the age of three she has wanted to be a vet and upon graduating from Dublin University in 1992 she dove into the only career that ever really appealed to her. Dr. Martin's Border Collie, Lola and cheeky cat, Darcy are both holding down the fort back in Ireland and occasionally leave muffled messages on her answering machine. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include rabbit care and small animal radiology, in which she recieved a specialty degree in 1999. When she isn't preoccupied with the well being of animals, Dr. Martin indulges her love of music, traveling, the theater and yoga. She has little trouble filling her free time with interesting and unusual things -- from the boardwalk at Coney Island to untested recipes in her kitchen. The only bad thing about New York City is the limited space of her apartment, where the only pet who has sufficient room to move around is Billy, a Japanese Fighting Fish.

Daniel McCauley - Animal Care

Daniel hails from Brooklyn and has three dogs (Mugsy, Bambu & Remy} and two cats (Jinx & Stewart). He loves being in the animal field. He has been a veterinary asistant for about three and a half years and really looks forward to growing more professionally and learning more things.

Jean Parker - Reception

Jean hails originally from Montgomery, Alabama, and has worked in the past as a veterinary receptionist and assistant. She has a B.F.A. in Dramatic Arts from the University of South Alabama, which serves her well at our front desk. Sometimes it's a little too dramatic up there. Her dog is named Muggles, who is the coolest dog in the world according to his owner.  She loves New York but she does miss good southern food.

Annie Egan - Reception

Anastasia Egan is a recent graduate of Florida Southern College with a BA degree in Theatre. She is originally from Waterford, CT. Her love of animals started at a young age when she began volunteering at a neighborhood farm. She is pleased to be working at Symphony while she pursues an acting career here in New York City.

Dana Murdock - Reception

Dana is a native New Yorker who has spent her whole life around animals. After graduating from SUNY Purchase with a BA in Literature, she hopped a plane to Austin Texas to attend the Triple Crown Academy for Professional Dog Trainers, where she was certified as a trainer and behavior specialist. After some time working in animal shelters and boarding facilities, she is happy to be back in Manhattan with her four cats- Nibby, Athena, Emily and Lamby. She also has a great souvenir from Texas- Pasha the Border Collie.

Gus Iverson - Reception

Gus Iversen is a domesticated mix breed, of vaguely european descent. He was born and raised in San Francisco and has inexplicably established himself in New York as a jack of all trades. He thanks you for holding.

Stinky - Cat

Stinky is Symphony Vet Center's resident cat. She loves to be petted and she'll hook her claw into your pants hem if you try to walk away before she has gotten her fill. Due to a car accident when she was a kitten, Stinky is partially paralyzed and incontinent (thus the name Stinky), but she is suprisingly agile and able to get around. Despite being on permanent medication, she couldn't be happier living as our hospital cat.
